Who should apply

Apply if you have an existing audience, an archive of spoken material, and a subject you speak about with authority.

Do not apply if you have not started creating, if you want someone else to write the book, if you want a book generated from a prompt, or if you want free work to collect rather than a book to publish, sell, or share.

What the application asks

It asks about you, your audience, the book you want, and the spoken material you have. It also asks for a working title for the book.

The free book is built from 60 minutes of your own spoken content, so the application asks what you have.

What happens next

We read your application and reply within two business days with one of three answers: accepted, waitlisted, or not a fit.

If you are accepted, the next step is the Author’s Brief. Then you accept the agreement and add your recordings, in either order. We name your start date when you are accepted.

If you are waitlisted, we keep your application and contact you when a place opens. If it is not a fit, we tell you what did not fit.

You pay nothing to apply, and the book is free for the first three authors.
